DEPARTMENT OF MANAGEMENT STUDIES ORGANISED WORKSHOP ON “ROLE OF EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION IN CAREER BUILDING” on 5th FEBRUARY, 2016

Department of Management Studies organised one day workshop on “Role of Effective Communication in Career Building” on February 5, 2016. Dr. Manjari Tejpal, Professor and Head of Department, RIMT, Mandi Gobindgarh was the resource person. She explained with the concept and different management games that the success of an organization depends on the transparency between the team members and clear understanding of ideas between them because effective communication plays a very important role in achieving organizational goals. She told that it is the prime responsibility of the human resources department to clearly inform the employee the rules and policies of the organization for him to perform efficiently. Every individual should be on the same platform and the clarity of ideas, messages is mandatory for smooth flow of work. In workplace and in personal life too, better communication skills at workplace enable the employees as well as the employer to function smoothly and effectively, which leads to higher performance and higher productivity.

In fact, it is often found that people tend to neglect about the importance of having a good communication in an organization. This often leads to a critical situation and the organization faces difficulties in several aspects such as reduced productivity, wastage of resources, delays in deliveries and workplace conflicts. She further added that Communication gap could be the biggest enemy within a particular organization which hinders creativity and profit. Each organization should make sure that there is enough communication channels established within the organization which helps its employees to have a friendly and healthy environment. She made it clear that clarity in communication also helps the managers and the employees to plan and schedule different resources so as to ensure optimum utilization.
