DEPARTMENT OF MANAGEMENT STUDIES ORGANIZED A WORKSHOP ON RESEARCH METHODOLOGY ON 27th JANUARY, 2016
A one-day workshop was organized by the Department of Management Studies on January 27, 2016 in the Seminar Hall. Dr. Gurwinder Shergil, Messey University, New Zealand was the speaker of the day who imparted his views on Research Methodology. Many faculty and research scholars of the University got the opportunity to attend the workshop. The resource person covered many topics related to research, research paper writing, ethics in research, how to choose a topic for research, how to make a questionnaire and different methodologies that can be used. Participants were informed about important points while writing a research paper including the types of journals and making the correct choice of journal. Discussion on citations and difference between reference and citation was also drawn by the resource person. Participants were also rendered information about the impact factor, journal immediacy index and citation analysis to decide the quality or reputation of a journal. Participants were given an overview of basic steps for Ph. D. research, sharing of personal journey on this academic path, APA 6 norms for formatting and writing and building up a thesis. It was a participative event and the students learnt a lot from this workshop.
