Extension Activity: “importance of Digital Payments and E-banking Methods”
Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering organized an Awareness Program on “IMPORTANCE OF DIGITAL PAYMENTS AND E-BANKING METHODS” on 9th February, 2017.
The vision of India, in getting accustomed with cashless economy and the citizens opting for cashless transaction in daily life, had the Union Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar rightly advise the educational institutions of the country, to promote cashless transactions.
There is no alternate to this in near future and people should become more aware of the facts and procedures of applying cashless transactions in day to day life. The basic thrust of the conducting the extension activity was to make the class IV employees, drivers, conductors & non-teaching staff aware of the different means of digital payments. Our Campaign coordinator Mr. Deepak Dhadwal under the guidance of Mr. Parveen Bajaj, H.O.D (ECE), explained the importance & advantages of digital payment and various modes of collection/digital payment of product and services through prepaid cards like Debit / RuPay card, Mobile Banking, Mobile E-wallet, Aadhar enabled payment system (AEPS) and UPI.
The National Payment Cooperation of India, together with the RBI, has launched BHIM app. It allow users to send or receive money to other UPI payment addresses or scanning or account number to users who do not have a UPI-based bank account. BHIM allows users to check current balance in their bank accounts and to choose which bank account to use for conducting transactions. People were motivated to use this BHIM app as it saves time spent in banks. It provides ways for international banking. It is banking throughout the year, 24X7 days from any place.
