Students represented MMU in an International Workshop at NIT – Raipur
The students of M.M. School of Architecture participated in an International Workshop on“Social Implementations in Architecture” held at NIT – Raipur from 20 – 27August, 2016.
Apaar Srivastava, Himanshu Bahl, Prakhar Vishnoi and Vartika Sharma got this opportunity to be a part of the forty participants – students, research scholars, faculty members, professionals, shortlisted from all over India for attending this course.
The primary objective of the course was to understand of the concept of social capital and its different forms such as bonding, bridging and linking. Understand the relationship between social capital and human settlements/neighbourhoods/housing and application of the theoretical knowledge on empirical situations and thus finding solutions to improve shelter conditions of the marginalized.
Eminent International Faculty, Architect D. P. Chandrasekara, University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka, along with Eminent National Faculty,Architect Debashis Sanyal, from NIT Raipur delivered lectures accompanied with practical workshops, hands on tutorials and field study.
