A study visit to Capitol Complex and Pierre Jeanneret House in Chandigarh was organized by MM School of Architecture, Ambala on 30th July 2019 for the students of B. Arch and B.Sc. ID, 3rd semester. The Capitol Complex is one of the most monumental architectural compositions of Modern Urbanism by Le Corbusier- an important part of his global legacy arising out of a unique geo-political and cultural setting. It showcases landmark innovations in fields of urban planning, architectural theory and practice and advancements in building materials and technology. Corbusier’s cousin, Pierre Jeanneret was responsible for most of civic architecture projects of the city. His residence was eventually converted to a museum which highlights the architectural character of buildings designed by him.
The visit provided an insight into the professional and personal life of the architects thereby inspiring students to persevere in order to attain excellence.
