Students representing MMU in GIAN Course at IIT–Kharagpur
The students of M.M. School of Architecture participated in the GIAN course on ‘Reducing disaster risks in historic urban areas’ held at IIT Kharagpur from 20 – 25 June, 2016. Vartika and Shreya got this opportunity to be a part of the forty five participants – students, research scholars, faculty members, professionals, shortlisted from all over India for attending this course.
The primary objective of the course was to understand the significance and vulnerabilities of historic areas and cities especially those that are located in risk prone areas. Renowned international experts Dr Lee Bosher, Loughborough University, England and Dr. Rohit Jigyasu, along with domain experts from IIT Kharagpur delivered lectures accompanied with practical workshops, hands on tutorials and field study.
