Annual NASA Convention 2018
60th Annual NASA Convention, India (National Association for Students of Architecture, India) is an opportunity for the architecture students throughout the country to interact, assimilate architectural information and share ideas and experiences. This year, the event themed “Reflections” was held at DC School of Architecture and Design, Vagamon; Kerala from 29th Jan 2018 to 2nd February 2018, which inculcated a diversity of skills and a plethora of knowledge among the participants who hailed from architectural schools across the nation.
Taslima Nasreen, well-known writer from Bangladesh, inaugurated the 60th Annual Convention of the National Association of Students of Architecture. In the Inauguration ceremony the Vice chancellor of DCSMAT and Principal of DC School of architecture with the NASA educative council members were present to light up the lamp and declare the convention open.
In the inaugural ceremony only, the Unit Secretaries and the Unit designees from different architectural college of India are allowed to sit. They were told all the rules and regulations for the convention. Near about 190 colleges attended the conventions and about 500 Faculty and 6000 delegates attended the convention from the field of architecture from across the country. Renowned architects of international and national repute attended the Annual Convention, besides other dignitaries. South African architect Peter Rich and Raj Rewal, the architect who designed Pragathi Maidan, were present among those present on the occasion.
The event looked back at the journey of architect’s transformation, re-evolution and parallel projections where it revamps the face of architectural arena and strengthens the core of the association. There were 30 academic workshops, 100 plus talks and various related competitions happening during the course of the convention. Apart from the students, the convention was attended by architects from around the country.
