Case Study Visit
MM School of Architecture organized a case study visit to Tagore theatre, Chandigarh and Yavanika Open Air Theatre, Panchkula on 1 st February, 2019 for VI th semester students as part of their architectural design problem. During the visit, the students showed a lot of enthusiasm in not only taking measurements but also in studying the fundamental techniques and planning of the theatre including all the services such as, hvac, acoustics, fire fighting, lighting, backstage area, circulation spaces, etc. Along with the spacial planning, the students also gained knowledge about the structural aspects of large span spaces.
The visit was very informative for the students as with this, they could easily relate the theoretical aspects of designing and planning of various spaces in an auditorium with the practical aspects which was beneficial to bridge the gap between theory and practical.
