A faculty member from MMSOA participated in the ‘”Three Days Capacity Building Training” program on Punjab Energy Conservation Building Code (ECBC) was organized by SAAKAR FOUDATION and PEDA at Hall of Guru Nanak Bhawan, GNDU, Amritsar, Punjab from 4th to 6th July, 2018. The training program was attended by many Architects, Builders, Engineers, Stakeholders, Consultants, Energy Auditors/Managers and other Building Professionals. The main agenda of the training program was to make everyone aware of
theoretical framework and practical implementation of Energy conservation codes in building industry.

The session began with an overview of Punjab ECBC, its scope, administration and compliance approaches by Er Vevaik Mahajan preceded by lecture on building physics, practice on calculations along with simulation classes on eQUEST software by Ar Akshay Gupta. The building envelope was thoroughly discussed with sources of energy consumption such as lighting, electrical, envelope insulation etc by Er Vevaik Mahajan. master trainer Ar Akshay Gupta provided hands on experience on HVAC and lighting simulation on eQUEST. In the last, an objective test was conducted to make panel of ECBC experts to create ECBC
professionals in the state of Punjab.

The training provided wide knowledge of sustainability and its implementation which has
indispensable demand in current time.
