Extension Lecture by Ar. Charanjit S Shah on “Sustainability in Mega Structures”
MM School of Architecture, Sadopur, Ambala organised special lecture by Ar. Charanjit Shah from Delhi on “Sustainability in Mega Structures” on the eve of World Earth Day. Eminent architects of the region, Dr. S.S. Bhatti, Ar. S.D. Sharma and Ar. Surinder Bahga were present on this occasion. The programme commenced with Dr. Bhatti’s Book release named Architecture, Theory, Practice, and Research Pedagogy by chief guest Ar. Charanjit Shah. Dr. Bhatti is ex Principal, CCA and has written other 20 books on various topics of architecture. Dr. Bhatti’s book release was followed by Ar. S.D. Sharma’s talk. Ar. Sharma has worked on Chandigarh Capitol Complex project along with Le Corbusier.
Ar. Charanjit Shah’s presentation on “Sustainability in Mega Projects” was well appreciated by the audience. He talked about as how we can make large projects sustainable by following basic principles of sustainability, thereby protecting our mother earth’s natural resources. His award winning projects of Chennai Airport & Raipur Airport were well received and applauded by the students. On this occasion, Ar. Surinder Bagha’s words of motivation to the students were more than enough to boost up the morale of the students. Prof. Aradhana Jindal , Principal, MMSOA, in her concluding speech applauded the pioneering efforts of Ar. Charanjit Shah’s forbringing about sustainability in large projects.
