Extention Lecture On “Evolution of Modern Houses” by Ar. Surinder Bahga
MM School of Architecture organised a guest lecture on “Evolution of Modern Houses” on 7th March, 2018, by Ar. Surinder Bahga, a Chandigarh based architect who established the architectural organisation “Saakaar Foundation” in Chandigarh in 1984 and is a leading expert in energy-efficient housing design.
Ar. Surinder Bahga delivered an extremely informative lecture in which he talked extensively on the colonial influence in Indian houses. He cited examples and case studies of various modern ideal homes for India designed by various renowned architects of India and abroad. Ar. Bahga talked about few interesting facts of designing modern houses which are responsive to function, climate and materials.
After such inspirational talks, the session ended with a vote of thanks by Prof. Aradhana Jindal, Principal, thanking Ar. Surinder Bahga for sparing his valuable time for an extremely informative lecture.
