Launching of 8th student chapter of IGBC in SOA
8thstudent chapter of IGBC (Indian Green Building Council)was launched on 28th January, 2016 in MM School of Architecture. The event started with lightning of lamp by the esteemed guests- Ar. Jeet Kumar Gupta, Co-Chairman, IGBC (Chd chapter), Mr.AnujAggrawal, Director (Ambience) Col SaileshPathak, Proprietor ( Art-N-GlassInc.), Dr.Manpreet Singh, Principal, MMGI, Prof. Raman Gupta, Registrar escorted by Prof. Aradhana Jindal, Principal, MM School of Architecture.
Prof. Aradhana Jindal welcomed the distinguished guests of IGBC and addressed the students on the occasion, talking about importance of nature in our lives and role of the students in making the environment green by designing Green architecture.
Ar. Jeet Kumar Gupta not only told the students about the vision of IGBC but alsoas how everyone should have accessibility to the latest technology responsible for taking India among the list of top countries in sustainable development. Speaking about tangible and intangible benefits of green buildings, he asked the student to make it an integral part of their education.
Mr.AnujAggrawal, Director, Ambience, stressed upon the need to build green buildings and introduced the concept of Net-Zero Energy. On the other hand, Col. SaileshPathak spoke about the importance of glass as a building material and how it not only connects us with nature but also maintains light and thermal comfort, etc.
Launching of IGBC Student Chapter at SOA, MMU took place with awarding the certificate to the school. The event was followed by presenting mementos to our esteemed guests of honour and a vote of thanks was proposed thanking the speakers for their gracious presence and for the interactive session with the students.
