A ‘”Three Days Capacity Building Training” program on Punjab Energy Conservation Building Code (ECBC) was organized by Design2Occupancy Services LLP in Bhatinda, Punjab from 18th to 20th July, 2018. A faculty member from MMSOA joined the program and gained insight into the theoretical framework and practical implementation of conservation codes in building industry.

The session began with an overview of Punjab ECBC, its scope, administration and compliance approaches by Sh. Money Khanna preceded by lecture on building physics, practice on calculations along with simulation classes on Equest software by Sh. Gaurav Shorey. A presentation on building envelope and EPF was given by Ar. Jatinder Kaur. Master trainers Sh. Subhash Mathur and Sh. Money Khanna provided hands on experience on HVAC and lighting simulation on Equest. The program commenced with presentation on case studies followed by a objective test.

The Training program provided an informative experience by bridging the gap between theory and practice of sustainability and highlighting the issue of rising energy demands by buildings which needs to be addressed on urgent basis.
