MM School of Architecture organized a two days workshop on ‘Autodesk Ecotect Analysis software’for B.Arch. students on 15th and 16th March by Ar. Suraj Bhunje from Pune. Ar. Suraj Bhunje is a LEED evaluator and building energy efficiency expert.

In the workshop, the students learnt about the different climatic zones of India and also as how the micro climate of a place changes with changing surroundings. Mr Bhunje emphasised on need to understand the climatic factors in detail so that we can design energy efficient buildings and minimize the load on mechanical cooling and heating devices and also provide comfortable working environment with optimum natural light and thermal comfort.

Autodesk Ecotect Analysis is an environmental analysis tool. With the help of this tool, the students learnt how to simulate building performance from the early stages of conceptual design. The students gained hands on experience on the analysis functions with an interactive display that presents analytical results directly within the context of the building model.
